  Most of my immediate family left when I did. My mother and brother stayed in. Because I didn't want to jeopardize being able to talk with them, I never actively challenged them. My mother tried to talk me back in, but when I had questions she couldn't answer, she eventually gave up.

  My brother has never asked me about my decision to leave, and I have never asked him why he stayed. If he had ever shown any interest in discussing it, I would gladly have accommodated him.

  san diego (cns) - a fire broke out at a church in university heights friday for the second time in 10 days, and arson was suspected, authorities said.. the non-injury fire at kingdom hall of jehovah's witnesses in the 2000 block of adams avenue was reported at midnight, according to a san diego fire-rescue dispatcher.

  it took firefighters about 15 minutes to knock down the blaze.. a fire was intentionally set at the same structure around 11:55 p.m. dec. 20 by one or more burglars attempting to destroy evidence of a break-in, sd fire-rescue spokesman maurice luque said last week.. damage from last week's fire was estimated at $50,000 to the building and $25,000 to its contents.

  If it's true about one fire being set to hide evidence of a break-in, then I have to wonder why anyone would want to break into a KH. There's nothing of value in there. A thief would score a bigger haul in most private homes.

  i will tell you one, i do remember one brother that was doing some street work, he was standing while he only showed the very back page of the magazines and his tactic did work more than you think and they asked him what the magazine was all about.

  What gets worldly people curious about dubs ...

  1. They all dress like they're in a 50's sitcom ... with briefcases.

  2. They all exude an oily and suspicious friendliness.

  3. They knock on your door Saturday mornings when all sane people are sleeping in.

  4. They say the end of the world is "right around the corner," and they mean it.

  5. Their children look shell-shocked.

  6. Their churches look like small factories with no windows.

  I had no choice. When I was 12 my mother forced me and my sibs into the cult. My father stood by and let it happen.
